Summary
Six zones will each have a single operator responsible for all aspects of sewer lines, manholes, pumping stations and complaint handling, moving from reactive repairs to planned preventive maintenance with real‑time monitoring.
Smart meters equipped with chlorine and pressure sensors will be installed, and rainwater harvesting policies will be applied to government buildings to reduce flooding and improve groundwater recharge.
Thirteen new sewage treatment plants, funded partly by the National Mission for Clean Ganga, aim to reduce untreated sewage entering the Yamuna River.
