Australia, India, Japan and the United States held a tabletop exercise in Tokyo on 3‑4 September 2026.
The activity built on earlier exercises in Hawaii (April 2025) and Guam (December 2025).
It emphasized sharing logistics capabilities and creating Standard Operating Procedures.
The goal is to enable rapid, efficient response to major natural disasters across the Indo‑Pacific.
Future tabletop and field training exercises will further develop the network.
The exercise focused on natural‑disaster scenarios, especially floods, and on drafting Standard Operating Procedures for faster, coordinated aid.
Participants pledged continued cooperation, more training, and shared resources to help the region recover from large‑scale emergencies.
