Summary
A four‑lane upgrade of National Highway twenty‑two in Bihar was approved for roughly 3,590 crore Indian rupees.
The railway additions will add around 410 km of track, linking over 6,400 villages and supporting the movement of commodities such as coal, iron ore, cement and food grains.
The highway project includes seven major bridges, a 340‑metre bridge over the Bagmati River, and will improve connectivity to industrial zones and tourist sites.
Both initiatives are part of the Prime Minister's Gati Shakti National Master Plan to improve logistics, cut travel time, lower fuel consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
